We’re Green
We want to sleep at night restfully, knowing our design, development and consulting work isn't just benefiting our wallets, but is helping the environment and society. We believe that social and environmental responsibility is pivotal to our success. We believe it’s our right and responsibility to dramatically change the ways in which we use the Earth’s natural resources and the ways in which we fight social issues around the world. We also aim to spread the message of “going green for more green” by understanding the problems and solutions at hand in order to show other businesses and our clients that going green can actually be profitable.
What are some of the ways in which we strive to fight global warming?
- Requiring employees to undergo the “Low Carbon Diet”, a "30 day program to lose 5000 pounds."
- Permitting (and encouraging) employees to telecommute to reduce commute related carbon output.
- Encouraging carpooling whenever possible.
- Seeking green or environmentally-friendly vendors, suppliers, clients, partners, etc…
- Reducing waste whenever possible.
- Unplugging all equipment at the end of the work day.
- Turning off monitors and screens whenever possible.
- Putting computers in sleep mode / turning off whenever possible.
- Recycling papers, plastics, aluminum, and ink cartridges.
- Properly disposing of computer equipment, batteries, etc…
- Setting the thermostat to 68 during the winter and 74 during the summer and not running AC or heat at all whenever possible.
- Seeking green related projects.
- Reducing junk mail by using www.directmail.com/Junk_Mail.
- Utilizing energy-efficient lights.
- Thinking before driving.
- Spreading the message of green via blogging and social media marketing (e.g. http://www.squidoo.com/thegreenlife)
