Introduction

North Carolina based BHCarolina Development is a builder of high-end million dollar custom homes. Unlike their competitors, they take the time to plan every detail in order to insure the final product is perfect. In fact, as a result of their dedication to quality and detail, they only build a limited number of homes each year.

The Challenge
In line with their tradition of excellence, it was important to BHCarolina Development that their new logo, stationary, and website adequately depict the superior quality of their homes and the magnificent surroundings of where they were built.

Additionally, the website had to be informative at the same time it displayed the elegance and exquisiteness of the homes.

Most importantly, it was important that the web site accurately showed BHCarolina Development’s philosophy of time and quality, with thought towards details.

The Process
During the brainstorming phase, it became evident that in order for the finished website to do justice to the beauty of these homes, it would have to have certain characteristics:

  • The logo and stationery, which would dictate the look and feel of the remaining website, would pair clean, soft curves with dark, silvery colors to highlight the elegance of the home designs
  • Each project would have to be profiled separately in an individual page with its own look and feel
  • The design of the individual home pages would have to maintain the same look and feel as the home page
  • The use of text would be limited to the most basic information. Instead, pictures would serve as the primary vehicle for depicting the beauty of each home

The Result
To begin with, a logo with a silver font set on a back drop of black was designed to convey the elegance permeating from each home and to set the tone for the website.

To maintain a uniform look and feel across the website and in order to properly uncover the elegance of each home, we paired straight, crisp lines with sharp, confident colors.

Instead, rotating pictures of the surrounding area are displayed in Flash to provide multiple views. This was done using Flash to add a fresh feel to the design and to ensure that the user experience was not overwhelming.

Lastly, a pleasantly soothing soundtrack was added to the background to enhance the viewing experience.

On completion of their project, Ben Henrich, CEO and founder of BHCarolina Development, expressed his satisfaction by stating:

“I could not be happier with my experience with Epsilon Concepts. My partners, clients, and friends continue to comment on the excellent quality displayed on our site.  Epsilon Concepts, through its utilization of Basecamp, has made me feel like part of the design team every step of the way and has taken the website design process to a new level. I could not be more pleased with the service I have received and I believe Basecamp was a large part of my experience.” -Ben Henrich
